About The Position

As The International School of Texas (IST) continues to grow, we announce our search for a full-time educator to teach Middle School English (IB Language & Literature) and Humanities (IB Individuals & Societies) beginning in August 2026. This position’s primary responsibility will be to teach students in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Program (MYP). This position will join a team of highly qualified, motivated, and professional educators in our Secondary Division. The primary responsibilities of this position include the planning and preparation of highly engaging, rigorous English and history lessons while documenting and tailoring instructional practices to best meet the needs of the students. Preference will be given to teachers with experience teaching in an International Baccalaureate School.

Requirements

experience teaching middle school
strong belief in progressive education
experience integrating curriculum with authentic, inquiry-based or project-based learning
openness to new technology platforms and their integration into all aspects of the classroom
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a related field
Two or more years of Middle School teaching experience
Pedagogical best practices integrated with SEL/Mindfulness
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Teaching Certification (Required)
Ability to Relocate: Austin, TX 78738: Relocate before starting work (Required)

Nice To Haves

Preference will be given to teachers with experience teaching in an International Baccalaureate School
Master’s Degree preferred and increased stipend rewarded
International Baccalaureate experience is preferred but not required
