As a new Mill Supervisor at Barrett Petfood, you can expect a dynamic and engaging work environment where your leadership will play a crucial role. Your typical schedule will be Friday through Sunday, from 4:00 PM to 4:00 AM. Initially, you will undergo training from Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, where you’ll learn our processes and safety protocols to empower you in your role. Day-to-day, you’ll manage staff, ensure adherence to safety and quality standards, and troubleshoot any operational challenges. You will collaborate with various teams, driving innovation while fostering a motivating atmosphere. Each day brings new challenges and opportunities to make a tangible impact in a customer-centric business. Your effective communication and problem-solving skills will be key to your success as you help us create exceptional products for pets.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role
  • A CDL is preferred, or you should have at least one year of related driving experience
  • Proficiency with various software and tools used in manufacturing processes
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • cultivating a customer-centric attitude

Responsibilities

  • Verify safety & quality standards are always being followed & met
  • Oversee the milling process and ensure weekly production goals are achieved
  • Full knowledge and understanding of all Mill Positions and willingness to assist in Milling Operation
  • Ability to independently lead projects
  • Delegate tasks to appropriate personnel to ensure success
  • Ensure organization of the trailer lot where bulk ingredients are stored
  • Confirm trailer inspections and damages are getting completed/recorded
  • Communicate with Mill Coordinator regarding schedule adjustments, Maintenance if there is equipment malfunction, or Quality if necessary.
  • Assist in inventory & reconciliation of the Mill
  • Support new hire training and continued development of Mill personnel
  • Utilize interpersonal skills to support & motivate the Mill team
  • Perform conflict resolution & deliver any disciplinary action if necessary
  • Complete attendance records & manage time off requests within the Mill
