About The Position

CNC twin spindle mill-turn operator Ingersoll Cutting Tools is one of the world’s leading suppliers of metal cutting tooling systems and an integral member of the IMC Group of Companies, a distinguished corporate holding of Berkshire Hathaway, with over 130 subsidiaries in 60 countries around the world. Ingersoll’s US operations are housed on our state-of-the-art manufacturing and marketing campus in Rockford, Illinois. We are currently accepting applications for a CNC twin spindle mill-turn operator. Essential job duties and Responsibilities include: Set up and operate CNC turning center (dual spindle) including loading offline generated programs, associated tooling and work holding. Conduct minor program editing as required utilizing programmed offsets. Utilize engineering drawings and work instructions to perform machining tasks with high level of quality. Utilizes QC equipment including proprietary master gaging, Zoller tool setters, electronic height gages, thread gages, hand tools, etc. Conducts 1st part and audit inspection ensuring all aspects of quality are being met in accordance with quality plans and engineering specifications. Maintains workspace orderliness and cleanliness. Quality assurance and labor reporting via Windows based computer system. Maintain organized and clean work area. Works to applicable process protocols/procedures. Works in Team Environment. Work OT and weekends as required. Perform other tasks as required. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to work well independently, as well as with others, in a team environment. Candidates should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, possess a good work ethic, demonstrate reliable and punctual work habits, demonstrate safety consciousness, and always conduct themselves in a professional manner. The Salary range for this position is $20-30/hr. 2 nd shift – 2-10pm with OVERTIME AS REQUIRED. Requirements

  • Minimum 2-year CNC turning experience or 1 year manufacturing coupled with appropriate CNC trade school experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings including geometric tolerances.
  • Ability to utilize electronic and mechanical precision measuring instruments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work well in a team environment.
  • Intermediate math skills: Addition, subtraction of decimals; Metric to English conversion; trigonometry a plus.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation.

  • Trade school experience a plus.
