We are seeking an experienced Mortgage Loan Originator to represent and promote Commonwealth Credit Union’s mortgage products throughout Louisville and the surrounding communities. Whether individuals are securing financing for a new home or refinancing an existing mortgage, the Mortgage Loan Originator II plays a crucial role in helping them achieve the dream of homeownership. The Mortgage Loan Originator II meets with borrowers to understand their financial goal and provides guidance throughout the loan process. They are responsible for developing relationships with borrowers, real estate agents, and referral partners, while staying informed of local market trends to create an effective sales approach. This role is responsible for maintaining a working knowledge of rules and regulations pertaining to mortgage applications to ensure a smooth and extraordinary experience for all parties involved.

Responsibilities

  • Communicating effectively with all levels of staff, including management, peers, and cross-functional departments, ensuring clarity and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Building strong, collaborative relationships with borrowers, agents, sellers, and the title company by providing consistent, proactive updates that provide confidence and ensure a smooth loan process.
  • Actively participating in networking events to expand professional connections and generate new business opportunities.
  • Identifying cross-sell opportunities to promote Credit Union products and services.
  • Consistently meeting mortgage loan growth targets while maintaining exceptional service standards.
  • Staying abreast of all applicable laws and regulations to ensure loan files are within compliance.
  • Completing all required compliance training and annual NMLS certification in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining up to date public notary and insurance licensing as required.
  • Maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency, consistently completing tasks on or ahead of schedule.
  • Supporting other Mortgage Loan Originators when they are out of office, while maintaining existing pipeline.
  • Maintaining technical skills in all mortgage operation systems (POS, LOS, Servicing Director, Meridian Link), and any other software programs necessary for accurate job performance.
  • Enhancing expertise by actively pursuing development opportunities, including but not limited to, attending conferences, acquiring certifications, completing learning courses internally and through other relevant platforms, or engaging in both internal and external leadership programs.
