About The Position

We’re excited to announce an opening for a Network Analyst I with the State of North Carolina’s Department of Information Technology (NCDIT). The Network Analyst I will join the Network Support group within the DIT Service Support division. Primary responsibilities include configuring and implementing complex wide area network and local area network changes and providing technical support to customers who rely on DIT’s network services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an IT related field from an appropriately accredited institution; OR Associate degree in computer science, or a related technical field from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of networking related experience; OR High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of networking related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • This position requires a fingerprint-based background search. Hires must agree to a fingerprint-based background search prior to being hired.”

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of IP addressing, subnet masking, and routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP and static routing
  • Understanding and demonstrated knowledge of Spanning Tree Protocol(s), ACLs, and Layer 2/Layer 3 switching

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 2 support for wide area network systems, including Metro Ethernet, L3 routing, MPLS, QoS, and Layer 2 switching
  • Implement new releases of service components using established change, configuration, and release management processes
  • Maintain accurate information on all IT assets and configurations
  • Coordinate deployment and implementation of local area networks for state agencies and institutions requiring connectivity to the North Carolina Information Network
  • Develop provisioning, configuration, and deployment plans and coordinate with agencies throughout implementation
  • Ensure equipment availability, correct configurations, and overall project oversight
  • Work with service delivery staff to fulfill service requests involving provisioning of data locations
