About The Position

Gibbs Truck Centers is seeking a driven and proactive Commercial Truck Sales Consultant to join our Santa Maria sales team. This role is ideal for a highly motivated sales professional who thrives on building relationships, prospecting new business, and creating opportunities in the field. Our consultants work directly with commercial fleets, contractors, municipalities, and owner-operators to provide the right truck solutions for their business. Success in this role requires discipline, persistence, and a commitment to structured sales activity.

Requirements

  • Proven sales experience (commercial vehicle, equipment, fleet, or B2B sales preferred)
  • Strong prospecting and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in the field
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience using CRM systems to track sales activity
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to meet customers

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills are preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Generate new business through proactive outreach including calls, emails, in-person visits, and industry events
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with fleet customers and business owners
  • Aggressively pursue sales opportunities from initial contact through final resolution
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all customer interactions in CRM
  • Conduct regular in-person customer visits and develop territory relationships
  • Prepare and present truck proposals tailored to customer needs
  • Collaborate with management and internal teams to deliver exceptional customer service
  • Maintain a structured weekly sales plan including prospecting routes and customer visits
