About The Position

Position Overview: The Next Gen Youth Director provides central leadership, vision, and strategic oversight for the middle school and high school ministries of Change Church across all campuses. This role is responsible for developing the ministry strategy, discipleship pathways, curriculum framework, and leadership systems that guide youth ministry throughout the church. The Next Gen Youth Director ensures that students experience engaging, spiritually formative environments where they can grow in their relationship with Christ, build meaningful community, and develop as young leaders. The Next Gen Youth Director directly leads and develops campus Youth Pastors and ministry leaders, equipping them to effectively lead their local student ministries while maintaining alignment with the vision, culture, and ministry standards of Change Church. Working closely with the Next Gen Family Pastor and the Next Gen Kids Director, this role helps ensure a unified and intentional discipleship pathway from childhood through high school. Strategic Ministry Development: Ability to design scalable discipleship systems and ministry programming across multiple campuses. Leadership Development: Strong ability to coach and develop campus Youth Pastors and ministry leaders. Volunteer Team Development: Ability to recruit, train, and empower Dream Team leaders to support student ministry environments. Program & Event Leadership: Experience designing engaging student gatherings, retreats, and camps that foster spiritual growth. Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal communication skills when working with staff, volunteers, students, and parents. Responsibilities

  • Central Youth Ministry Leadership Provide central leadership and strategic oversight for middle school and high school ministries across all Change Church campuses.
  • Develop and implement the vision, structure, and discipleship model for youth ministry.
  • Establish ministry standards, systems, and rhythms that ensure consistency across locations.
  • Ensure each campus youth ministry reflects the culture, excellence, and spiritual formation priorities of Change Church.
  • Develop strategies that help students grow spiritually and build strong faith foundations.
  • Leadership & Development of Campus Youth Pastors Provide direct leadership, coaching, and support to all campus Youth Pastors and student ministry leaders.
  • Conduct regular leadership check-ins to provide guidance, support, and accountability.
  • Equip campus leaders with tools, training, and resources needed to lead effective student ministry environments.
  • Support campus leaders in developing strong volunteer cultures and healthy Dream Team pipelines.
  • Mentor campus leaders in their pastoral leadership and ministry development.
  • Discipleship Pathways & Student Development Design and oversee discipleship pathways that help students grow spiritually throughout middle school and high school.
  • Develop strategies that encourage students to engage in church life, leadership opportunities, and spiritual formation environments.
  • Support initiatives that help students transition successfully from Kids ministry into Youth ministry and into young adulthood.
  • Curriculum & Teaching Framework Develop and oversee the youth ministry curriculum framework across all campuses.
  • Ensure biblical and theological alignment with the teaching philosophy of Change Church.
  • Provide creative direction for teaching series, discipleship content, and student engagement strategies.
  • Evaluate curriculum effectiveness and adjust as needed.
  • Volunteer Development Develop systems for recruiting, onboarding, training, and retaining Dream Team members across youth ministries.
  • Equip campus Youth Pastors with tools and processes to build strong volunteer cultures.
  • Develop leadership training for student ministry volunteers and small group leaders.
  • Student Events & Ministry Initiatives Provide strategic oversight for youth ministry events, retreats, camps, and leadership gatherings.
  • Collaborate with church leadership and ministry teams to coordinate youth ministry initiatives.
  • Ensure events are spiritually impactful, well-organized, and aligned with the overall vision of Change Church.
  • Safety & Security Collaboration Partner with the Director of Security to establish safety and security standards for youth ministries.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures across campuses.
  • Support campus leaders in maintaining safe and welcoming ministry environments.
  • Parent Engagement & Communication Develop systems that support strong communication with parents of middle school and high school students.
  • Provide resources and tools that help parents support the spiritual development of their students.
  • Partner with Marketing to communicate youth ministry initiatives, events, and opportunities.
  • Metrics & Ministry Growth Track engagement, attendance, and spiritual development metrics for youth ministries.
  • Evaluate ministry effectiveness and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Provide updates and insights to the Next Gen Family Pastor regarding the health and progress of youth ministries.
