The NPI Buyer- Power Systems will play a critical role in supporting the development and introduction of new products within GE Aerospace Power Systems. This position is responsible for sourcing, procurement, and supplier management activities to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials and components required for new product development. The NPI Buyer will collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to align procurement strategies with program goals, ensuring compliance with GE Aerospace’s SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (or HS diploma/GED and 7 years of relevant experience).
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement and sourcing operations or 7 years in supply chain functions with integration to sourcing.
  • This position requires U.S. citizenship status.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within the Aerospace & Defense industry.
  • Experience in supplier development and managing global supply chains.
  • Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP).
  • Experience with NPI programs and working in cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement tools.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Technical Background: Manufacturing, Quality or Operations background in Aerospace or Industrial setting.
  • Leadership ability: strong communicator, decision-maker, collaborative.
  • Problem solver: analytical-minded, challenges existing processes, critical thinker.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.

Responsibilities

  • Source and procure materials, components, and services required for new product development. Ensure alignment with engineering specifications, quality standards, and program timelines.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers capable of meeting NPI requirements. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure collaboration and performance.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
  • Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and program management teams to understand NPI requirements and timelines. Provide procurement expertise to support design changes, prototype builds, and production ramp-up.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including lead time constraints, capacity issues, and quality concerns. Develop contingency plans to ensure uninterrupted supply for NPI programs.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with GE Aerospace policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Track and report key performance metrics related to material health, supplier performance, cost savings, and delivery timelines. Support lean initiatives and process improvements within the supply chain to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. Collaborate on initiatives aligned with GE Aerospace’s FLIGHT DECK lean operating model.
