Responsibilities Functions in a leadership role, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team as a direct care provider and clinical expert. Develops and implements practice guidelines, participates as active and integral member of clinical pathway team, and maintains the established standards of care and practice through staff development, clinical improvement activities, and patient/staff education. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Orients, trains, and provides support to nursing students, externs, residents, nursing staff, departmental support staff. Plans, implements and evaluates onboarding and orientation programs. Performs the duties and responsibilities of the Staff Registered Nurse. Provides oversight of preceptor selection process; may serve as preceptor. Uses adult learning principles to plan, design, implement, and evaluate educational opportunities and workshops for staff. Facilitates implementation of policies, procedures, and equipment. Maintains education and competency records for unit-based staff. Assist with unit-specific competency program; determines competency needs; participates in annual competency evaluation process. Participates in hospital-wide QI Program and assists in regulatory and compliance preparation. Develops, monitors, and reports unit-based QI measurement indicators.

Requirements

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.
• Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
• Must hold Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).

Nice To Haves

• BSN degree
• Two (2) years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in the clinical specialty.
• Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications in specific units.
• Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.
