About The Position

RN ASN or BSN (Nurse Liaison) Customer Excellence The Nurse Liaison will facilitate communication with patient families, resolve potential communication conflicts, improve Patient Satisfaction by compassionate advocacy and serve as a resource for the patient family, nursing staff, and surgical staff. Under the general supervision of the Clinical Coordinators and Director of Peri-Anesthesia Services, responsible for continuous, compassionate communication with patient families as scheduled.

Requirements

• Skill and competence in the principles, concepts, and techniques of the nursing profession. Such proficiency is required through completion of an associate, diploma or baccalaureate degree in nursing.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the State of Tennessee.

Responsibilities

• Greet patient, families and/or visitors.
• Introducing self to peri-anesthesia areas.
• Create a connection with families of surgery patients in the waiting areas.
• Be accessible as a resource for families and staff.
• Educate families as necessary on processes and phone communication.
• Coordinate information/updates between OR, PACU and medical staff as necessary.
• Address communication opportunities as they arise by following up with the peri-operative areas, then reporting back to the family.
• Provide support and compassion presence to waiting family members.
• Provide service recovery on an as needed basis.
• Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.
