About The Position

The Office Coordinator serves as the primary administrative support for two on-campus residential communities (ELLC & CMRC) at Bowie State University. This role is responsible for front-office operations, customer service, basic student account support, and clerical and administrative functions that support housing operations and resident services.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One to two years of clerical experience.
  • One to two years of customer service experience.
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and E-mail)
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment including photocopier and telephone. Basic typing and filing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to move and lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Greet visitors and manage front desk operations
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls and emails
  • Assist with basic resident account inquiries and collections support
  • Process payments and issue receipts in accordance with company policies
  • Maintain resident files and perform data entry in housing management systems (Entrata)
  • Coordinate mailings, process incoming/outgoing mail, and manage office supplies
  • Support leasing, move-in, move-out, and marketing activities
  • Assist site leadership with administrative tasks and supervision of student office assistants
  • Provide administrative support during peak periods and special events
  • Perform other duties as assigned
