About The Position

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled and certified Operating Room Technician (CST) to support surgical teams in a fast-paced clinical environment. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and operating room protocols, working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician.

Requirements

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room experience
  • Completion of an accredited CST training program
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of aseptic and sterile techniques
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment
  • High attention to detail and patient safety
  • Physical stamina and manual dexterity

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain sterile field using aseptic techniques
  • Perform surgical scrub, gowning, and gloving procedures
  • Set up instruments, equipment, and supplies based on procedure requirements
  • Assist surgeons by anticipating needs during procedures
  • Maintain accurate counts of instruments, sponges, and needles
  • Monitor sterile environment and take corrective action if contamination occurs
  • Handle and label surgical specimens according to protocol
  • Assist with dressings, drainage systems, and patient positioning
  • Ensure proper cleaning, decontamination, and room turnover
  • Assist RN with pre-, intra-, and post-operative patient care
  • Prepare and provide surgical equipment and supplies as needed
  • Support patient positioning and safety during procedures
  • Monitor operating room traffic and maintain sterile environment
  • Assist with documentation and surgical counts
  • Facilitate patient transport and room preparation for next case
  • Assist RN with preparation of medications in the sterile field (under supervision only)
  • Label all medications appropriately
  • Communicate medication details clearly to the surgical team
  • Follow strict guidelines (no handling of controlled substances)
  • Assist with patient transport
  • Maintain organized operating and storage areas
  • Monitor inventory levels and report supply or equipment needs
  • Support updates to surgical preference cards
