About The Position

As a Tax Operations Assistant with our Tax team, you will play a key behind-the-scenes role in ensuring tax returns are finalized, assembled, and delivered accurately and efficiently. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys detail-oriented work, thrives in a deadline-driven environment, and wants to support a high-performing tax team through strong operational execution.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2+ years of administrative or operations experience within a CPA or professional services firm highly preferred
  • Hands on experience with SafeSend and CCH Axcess preferred
  • Experience compiling and distributing tax returns in a public accounting environment strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
  • Strong attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and follow-through
  • Must be able and willing to work over 40 hours during busy tax season.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States permanently without the requirement of sponsorship at any point in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Tax Return Assembly (for tax department employees).
  • Completes scanning requirements for document storage as defined or requested.
  • Maintains files of correspondence or other records, electronically or on paper.
  • Drafts, proofs, formats, add footnotes, and save as pdfs the financial statements for clients.
  • Generates, distributes, and tracks all client materials.
  • Maintains control file of all matters in progress for each assigned Partner and Manager.
  • Maintains procedures that implement operational and/or fiscal policies.
  • Interprets policies and procedures as established by Managers.
  • Compiles data based on research techniques and on statistical compilations involving an understanding of operating unit programs, policies, and procedures.
