About The Position

This civilian position oversees all intelligence and analytical functions within the Florida Highway Patrol, Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Intelligence.  This includes Intelligence Operations and Investigative Support functions regarding intelligence gathering analysis and dissemination. This position will work with the Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Commander to: Develop a cohesive and comprehensive statewide plan for intelligence. Establishes viable performance standards and ensures they are properly adhered to. Monitors expenditures and ensures fiscal responsibility. Serves as the Department’s Chief Security Officer (Security Clearance Administrator). Supervises and oversees a staff of analysts statewide. The position ensures the timely dissemination of intelligence information to internal and external stakeholders.  Ensuring the consistency, effectiveness and efficiency of intelligence operational objectives, services and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of intelligence processes, the intelligence cycle and intelligence organizations.
  • Knowledge of intelligence community structure, organization, commands, and offices.
  • Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holding, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps.
  • Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data.
  • Ability to develop and articulate strategies and actions to successfully implement the vision of the unit consistent with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable laws, rules, policies and procedures.
  • Skill in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access and SharePoint.
  • Ability to forecast long and short-term resource requirements that support mission goals and objectives.
  • Ability to deal with the public in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Ability to provide leadership, clear direction and serve as a positive role model for subordinates.
  • Ability to operate general office equipment.
  • Skill in communicating effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Strong academic/technical writing skills.
  • The position you are applying for is subject to a Level 2 background check, along with Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) clearance, to include a fingerprint-based check of the criminal records of the FBI, as a condition of employment pursuant to Chapter 110.1127, 435 and 943, Florida Statutes.
  • This position requires the incumbent to have and maintain a valid driver’s license in good standing.
  • High School Diploma.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference will be given to applicants exhibiting strong managerial and leadership skills, background in Federal, State or local law enforcement intelligence.
  • Preference will also be given to applicants with professional work experience in applied intelligence and/or crime analysis related field.
