About The Position

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking an Operations Specialist to join our Non-Regional Business Unit (NRBU) team, located in Pasadena, TX. Major responsibilities include but not limited to managing the daily adherence to Linde’s goals of Safety, Quality, Service, Cost and Employee Retention within the Non-Regional Business Unit family of supply plants. In conjunction with the daily responsibilities the position will be evaluating current plant capacities across key product lines and defining capacity expansion plans defined by growth initiates developed by the Specialty Product Marketing Managers. This position will lead continuous improvement efforts within the production processes to achieve productivity objectives, to develop and support implementation of Best Operating Practices (BOP) across all Specialty Products production sites. Position reports to the Specialty Products Operations Director and may be physically located at any Non-Regional Business facilities within the U.S. Exempt, salaried positions require a consistent on‑site presence during the company’s core operating hours to support business operations and team needs. Due to the nature of exempt roles, work hours may extend beyond the standard schedule when necessary to meet organizational demands, leadership responsibilities, and business objectives. This may include occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends, depending on the role and the needs of the business, manager will confirm shift expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering field preferred; High School Diploma required
  • 5 years’ experience in Operations required, plant management prefered
  • 5 years’ experience in Analytical Lab preferred
  • Experience in continuous improvement project execution preferred
  • Knowledge of specialty gases, automotive, medical, equipment and processes required
  • Working knowledge of JDE required
  • Understanding of all US based Specialty Products manufacturing facilities
  • Effective ability to influence people remotely
  • Knowledge of raw material supply chains, production planning and business continuity planning
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Assessing Safety gaps and needs to be collaborated with the NRBU Process Safety and the Safety Managers to ensure the plants are safety focused and audit ready everyday
  • Assessment of plant production capabilities including operations and analytical abilities to drive new products, throughput, and continuous improvement
  • Identification of future production demands, plant equipment and operational upgrades would be required to meet these demands
  • Develop and implement productivity goals as coordinated with the SP&E Productivity Manager to achieve the financial aspect of expanding growth, quality and managing costs
  • Evaluate plant staffing plans to meet growth ambitions
  • Develop and coordinate a documented approach to growth opportunities to include all steps/milestones required to meet timelines utilizing current and new planning tools.
  • Coordinate Engineering Projects within the NRBU plants through focused communication with the Project Manager, Engineers and the NRBU team
  • Support the facilities in current capacity modelling (S&OP Reports) to ensure current demand and excess capacity are fully understood
  • Develop a strong working relationship with the Production facilities and their operation’s management teams to develop capex requests allowing better coordination of cylinder, valve, and equipment purchases
  • Elevate the performance of the production sites using live and post monthly reported key Process Indicators (KPI) to assess supply gaps used to develop plans to address through preventative and corrective actions
  • Align the NRBU Operations, Employee Grades, and Procedures for all sites to migrate, where appropriate, to standardized procedures utilizing the best practices from each site.
