About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometry Technician to join our eye care team. We have 4 primary care health centers and deliver integrated services including Medical, Behavioral Health, Pharmacy, Dental, Optometry, specialty referrals, chronic disease management, health education, and much, much more. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification in optometric assisting (COT) preferred, or willingness to obtain COT certification upon hire.
  • Previous experience in an optometry or ophthalmology setting is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience or experience working in a medical setting preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in an optometry or ophthalmology setting is a plus.
  • 2 years Customer Service preferred is or work in the medical field.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Presentation skills, Problem Solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team
  • Basic knowledge of ophthalmic instruments and testing procedures
  • Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and patient needs
  • Knowledge/ability to use various software programs (Windows, Outlook, Excel, work, email, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Performs clinical work up, specialized diagnostic testing.
  • Assist optometrists during eye examinations and procedures
  • Prepare patients for eye exams by taking medical histories and performing preliminary tests
  • Measure and record visual acuity, refraction, and other relevant data
  • Assist in the fitting and adjustment of contact lenses and eyeglasses
  • Maintain and calibrate ophthalmic equipment and instruments
  • Educate patients on eye health, proper contact lens care, and eyewear usage
  • Manage patient records and ensure accurate documentation of procedures and results
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the examination area and equipment
