About The Position

The Outreach Advocate provides direct support, advocacy, and resource coordination for survivors of domestic and sexual violence and their children. This role conducts intakes, crisis intervention, safety planning, case management, and community outreach while ensuring services are trauma-informed, strengths-based, and compliant with legal and grant requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 6 months of work experience in social work or human services required, or related education may substitute
  • Strong interviewing, crisis intervention, and documentation skills required
  • Must Be At Least 21 Years of Age
  • Class One Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Central Registry Background Check
  • Drug Screening
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Valid Unrestricted Driver’s License
  • Current Auto Liability Insurance
  • 39 Month Motor Vehicle Record
  • Adhere to all organizational policies, including the Code of Conduct, professional standards, and relevant regulations.
  • As a mandated reporter under Arizona statute A.R.S. § 13-3620, you are required to immediately report any suspected abuse or neglect of a minor to your Supervisor, Manager, Director, Clinical Director, or Chief Officer, who will assist in making the appropriate report to authorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Women’s Studies, Justice Studies, Counseling, Family Studies, Criminal Justice, Pre-Law, or a related field preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
  • Experience working with survivors of trauma, domestic violence, or sexual violence preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred
  • Financial literacy skills such as budgeting and cash flow tracking preferred

Responsibilities

  • Critically assess client situations and respond appropriately on a case-by-case basis
  • Conduct walk-in intakes including safety planning, crisis intervention, transportation coordination, and internal/external referrals
  • Provide case management services for general intake participants
  • Serve as a resource on housing opportunities within the state
  • Collaborate with other Outreach Advocates to meet THRIVE program requirements
  • Partner with victim advocates to coordinate shared case management goals
  • Work cooperatively with community agencies serving victims of domestic and sexual violence
  • Create, update, and disseminate program resource materials
  • Provide outreach at community events by distributing program information and offering immediate assistance
  • Conduct community presentations and tabling events
  • Maintain participant files in accordance with legal and grant requirements, including timely documentation of intakes, progress notes, and closures
  • Support internal departments as needed
  • Drive a personal or agency vehicle to conduct program business
  • Respond to OSR requests
  • Attend all required meetings and trainings
  • Perform other duties as assigned
