Part-Time Elementary Tutor (Reading, Writing & Math)
About The Position
Tutor Doctor is a locally owned tutoring company that has proudly served families in our community for more than 15 years. We provide personalized, one-to-one tutoring in students’ homes and carefully match tutors with students based on subject expertise, personality, and availability. We are currently hiring an Elementary Tutor for reading, writing, and math support for students in the Bergenfield area. Tutors work one-on-one with students to strengthen foundational academic skills, build confidence, and help students develop positive learning habits. This is a flexible, part-time opportunity ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children and making a meaningful impact in their academic growth.
Requirements
- Experience working with elementary-aged students (tutoring, teaching, education programs, childcare, etc.)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable transportation to travel to students in the Bergenfield area
- Patient, engaging, and dependable
Nice To Haves
- Teaching certification preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions for elementary students
- Support reading comprehension, writing development, and foundational math skills
- Help students build confidence and strong study habits
- Provide brief session notes through our online platform
