Job Description Part-time employees are extremely helpful in keeping JCPRD parks clean, fun, and safe for patrons during busier parts of the year. The parks in JCPRD’s Northwest Region include Kill Creek/ Kill Creek Streamway Parks, Lexington Lake Park, Cedar Niles Streamway park, Timber Ridge Adventure Center, and Ernie Miller Nature Center. Working with the Northwest team teaches seasonal employees valuable experience and skills they can use in a future career.

Requirements

  • Before consideration, applicants must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and a clear background check.
  • Candidates for this position must be 16 years of age or older.
  • (Applicants under 18 years will not be allowed to drive district vehicles with a passenger.)
  • Candidates for this position shall have reliable transportation and shall be at work on time.
  • If employees are going to be late or absent, management must be contacted prior.
  • Part-time workers are subject to loud noises, heavy lifting up to 50lbs, extended periods of standing/walking, and weather extremes.
  • JCPRD requires reference/background screening for all positions.
  • Specified criteria may vary by Department.

Responsibilities

  • Part-time Park Workers for JCPRD Northwest Region parks shall assist in keeping the parks clean, safe, and inviting for patrons.
  • The duties include turf maintenance such as mowing, string trimming and trash removal.
  • Workers will be required to clean facilities and assist with construction projects, weed control, plant care, and tree trimming or removal.
  • May be asked to drive a vehicle and use trailers as well.
  • Will be subjected to some heavy lifting, standing or walking for long periods of time, exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures, and loud machinery.
  • The use of chemicals for cleaning, pest control and other various tasks can be expected.
  • There are many learning opportunities for applicants to benefit from in this position and many Seasonal Workers have moved into a full-time career with JCPRD.
  • Duties and responsibilities, as required by business necessity may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.
  • Scheduling and shift assignments and work location may be changed at any time, as required by business necessity.
