About The Position

Serve customers by identifying parts needs and processing orders promptly. Visualize and interpret customer requests accurately, including complex parts inquiries. Manage automatic backorders and ensure correct processing. Greet customers in person and by phone courteously and professionally. Refer customers to appropriate departments when necessary. Maintain knowledge of vendor items, mark-up, and freight charges. Collaborate with co-workers and contribute to a positive team environment. Requirements

  • Ability to accurately identify and order parts based on customer requests.
  • Strong attention to detail for tax, freight, and special instructions.
  • Familiarity with reference sources related to parts sales.
  • Proficient in company computer systems and ordering processes.
  • Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical or vocational training in automotive or heavy equipment parts preferred.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of computer systems and telephones.
  • Occasional lifting of parts up to 50 lbs.
  • Mental focus for accurate order entry and customer interaction.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in parts sales or a similar role within the heavy equipment industry.
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar or similar machinery parts.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with heavy equipment parts sales.
  • Familiarity with vendor ordering systems and pricing structures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
