About The Position

Bookoff McAndrews (BoMc) is seeking a Patent Practice Group Assistant with 1-2 years of office administrative experience to join our firm’s patent practice group. This position will reside in the firm’s Washington DC office. Specific Duties The Patent Practice Group Assistant will work closely with the Patent Practice Manager in providing administrative support to the firm’s attorneys and patent specialists. Compensation and Benefits The good faith base salary range for this position is $55,000 - $60,000 (non-exempt). The actual pay will be based on experience and other relevant factors permissible by law. Requirements

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of related administrative experience (preferably in patents).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to multi-task, manage multiple priorities, and work in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude toward service to the firm’s clients, attorneys, and co-workers.
  • Ability to independently and efficiently prioritize workflow.
  • Desire to learn new tasks and technologies.
  • Outstanding organizational, interpersonal and professional service skills (written and verbal).
  • Enjoy being involved in all aspects of a growing and changing law firm environment.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing routine mailing/shipping of correspondence to clients, foreign agents or the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Coordinating complex document preparation, including printing, scanning, copying, and faxing.
  • Preparing formal documents, obtaining appropriate signatures, and following-up as needed.
  • Performing special projects as assigned, including assisting with file transfers, assignment projects, and/or power of attorney projects.
  • Retrieving information from USPTO website and performing other Internet research.
  • Maintaining electronic files in accordance with firm standards, including storing a true copy of filings in electronic Netdox files.
  • Maintaining and closely following client and practice support procedures.
  • Performing other relevant duties in the practice area as directed.
