About The Position

Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented, customer service-focused Patient Care Coordinator to join our Admissions Team! This is a per-diem position We need someone with a professional demeanor who can work well under stress/stress situations, will provide great customer service to our patients, and is able to multitask! In this role you be responsible for performing a variety of medical clerical duties.

Requirements

• Knowledge of basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to type at least 40 words per minute
• Ability to relate and work effectively with others
• Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong Customer service background

Nice To Haves

• Prior clerical or medical office experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Registration and pre-registration functions to ensure the smooth transitioning of patients through the services they require
• Prepare pre-registration packets appropriately for each procedure
• Ensure that copies of appropriate documentation are obtained to facilitate the billing and collections processes
• Process co-payments and payments
• Registered patients and update medical records
• Back up all incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate person or department
• Perform nightly closing procedures for clinic
• Call patients for pre-registration notification including copays and deductibles
• Other duties as assigned
