About The Position

Iredell Health System is seeking a full-time Pediatric Hospitalist (Pediatrics Board Certified or Board Eligible) to support a Level I Newborn Nursery and inpatient pediatrics at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville, North Carolina.

Program Highlights
Level I Newborn Nursery with approximately 700 deliveries per year
Inpatient pediatrics averaging ~2 patients per day
No ICU/NICU coverage
Strong tertiary referral center support with streamlined transfer options for higher acuity care

Schedule
24-hour shifts
Flexible scheduling within the team to promote coverage stability and work–life balance

Requirements

• MD/DO
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics
• Eligible for/holds North Carolina medical licensure
• PALS required
• Neonatal resuscitation credential: NRP accepted (NALS also accepted per role/policy)

Responsibilities

• Routine newborn nursery care (assessment, rounding, parent counseling, discharge planning)
• General inpatient pediatric care (admissions, daily management, discharge coordination)
• Clear communication with families and collaboration with OB, ED, nursing, and ancillary services
