About The Position

We are hiring candidates with excellence in knowledge and supervisory skills. This position will be responsible for breeders, sustainability and animal welfare. Also will take care of clean up and set up of breeder houses. Job Details: Aviagen is seeking a Breeder Farm Supervisor who will be primarily responsible for assuring all procedures are followed in achieving the highest level of productivity in the most cost efficient manner possible while still maintaining proper data collection. Direct a team of employees, ensuring compliance with all programs, and enforcing Aviagen policies. Responsible for Employees’ Performance, Development, Safety, Bio-Security, Animal Welfare and Work Schedule.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or 3+ years’ experience in a similar production environment
  • 1+ year leadership and/or supervisory experience
  • 3 years of Breeder Management experience
  • Proficient English language knowledge and skills (oral and written)
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills sufficient to communicate and interact effectively with all levels within the organization
  • Proficient knowledge and use of Microsoft office programs
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment with multiple priorities
  • High work capacity, dependable, results oriented and strong sense of urgency
  • Demonstrated sound work ethic, honesty and moral character

Nice To Haves

  • Bi-lingual Spanish Preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the collection of accurate and consistent data
  • Collection and analysis of Breeder Farm data collection
  • Manage approx. 15 employee, providing positive and/or corrective feedback
  • Train and provide an environment for employees to achieve maximum quality and productivity performance
  • Promote safety throughout assigned work area
  • Generate weekly reports pertaining to KPI (Key Performance Indicators), data, and quality and ensure reporting requirements are fulfilled in a timely manner
  • Ensure proper daily staffing
  • Supervise, coach and train employees, providing professional development through ongoing feedback concerning strengths and areas in need of improvement
  • Plan and implement process improvements
  • Ensure safety, biosecurity, and animal welfare programs are followed
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs of equipment
