About The Position

Are you a Physical Therapist with substantial experience in an inpatient hospital experience who is looking to transition to a Nationally Recognized Hospital? If so, Atlantic Health is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist II for the Inpatient PT Department at Morristown Medical Center. The ideal candidate will have experience in working in a large academic medical center and be a team player who will provide exceptional care to our patients. Principal Accountabilities: Essential functions include patient evaluation, establishing plans of care and treatment programs, providing interventions, providing patient and family education, documenting interventions, and billing appropriately. Supports management in developing teaching materials, competency development and implementation, maintains knowledge of standards of practice. Maintains own professional productivity at desired levels and serves as an example/mentor for others within their discipline. Participates in the orientation of new staff members, serves as a clinical instructor for students, exercises independent judgement of moderately complex cases and with minimal to no supervision. Supports manager in key initiatives and handles other items as assigned in an independent manner.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Academic Program
  • New Jersey License to practice Physical Therapy
  • This position requires safe patient handling.
  • Must be able to provide patients with needed support during transitions, transfers, ambulation, stairs and other activities.
  • In the event of an unanticipated situation, must be able to safely lower the patient to the floor.
  • May involve pushing/pulling and/or carrying rehabilitation equipment and supplies

Nice To Haves

  • Preference given to candidates with Board Certification as Specialist in an area suitable for care in an acute care setting.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a Physical Therapist
  • Experience in provision of acute care services in a large academic medical setting
  • Demonstrable history of progressively increasing responsibilities for departmental activities including successful non-patient care activities and items
