About The Position

We are looking for a Physician Recruiter to lead the expansion of our physician and provider network. At Counsel Health, our technology is only as powerful as the clinicians who partner with it. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and closing high-caliber doctors who are eager to practice at the forefront of AI-native healthcare. While this is a clinical-focused role, you must be deeply tech-forward. To be successful, you will need to master Counsel’s AI platform to clearly articulate how our tools augment the provider experience, reduce administrative burden, and improve patient outcomes. You’ll be a key contributor to our clinical hiring strategy, ensuring we maintain a high bar for medical excellence as we scale our virtual care delivery. Note: This is a Contract-to-Hire position. We are looking for a partner to join us on a contract basis initially, with the intent to convert to a full-time role based on performance and hiring needs.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of clinical recruiting experience, specifically focused on hiring doctors (MDs/DOs) and physicians.
  • Telehealth/Digital Health Expertise: Proven track record in a high-growth virtual care or health-tech environment is required.
  • Tech-Forward Mindset: You must be highly proficient with modern productivity tools and capable of mastering a complex AI product demo to "sell" the vision to skeptical clinicians.
  • Exceptional Communication: Ability to build instant rapport with clinical professionals and explain technical concepts in a way that resonates with medical practitioners.
  • Operational Rigor: Experience managing complex scheduling and the administrative nuances (licensure, credentialing basics) inherent in clinical hiring.
  • Data Fluency: Experience using Ashby (or similar modern ATS) to track pipeline health and provide regular reporting to leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Physician Recruitment: Lead full-cycle recruiting for doctors (MDs & DOs), managing everything from initial outreach to credentialing hand-offs and closing.
  • AI Evangelism: Become an expert on Counsel’s AI-native platform to effectively pitch the "future of practice" to prospective clinical hires, addressing both technical and workflow-related questions.
  • Stakeholder Partnership: Work closely with the Chief Medical Officer and clinical leadership to define provider personas, shift requirements, and quality standards.
  • Sourcing & Pipeline Building: Execute targeted sourcing strategies to find clinicians with a "digital-first" mindset, leveraging clinical networks and digital platforms.
  • Process Contribution: Refine our clinical interview loops and onboarding workflows within Ashby ATS to ensure a seamless, professional experience for busy physician candidates.
  • Market Insights: Act as a pulse on the telehealth landscape, providing leadership with data on physician compensation trends and competitor movements.
