About The Position

We are seeking a motivated Pipeline Compliance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will assist with observing, documenting, and reporting pipeline safety and compliance activities. You will work closely with management and staff to help support compliance with federal, state, and company regulations related to pipeline operations and safety. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn about pipeline safety and regulatory compliance. This position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) regulations and related safety standards for natural gas pipeline, hazardous liquids pipeline, LNG, and underground gas storage assets, as well as OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) facilities. These regulations include: PHMSA 49 CFR 191, 192, 193, 194, 195, 199 and Part 40 OSHA Process Safety Management State Regulatory Requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Safety Management, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to learn technical and regulatory information quickly.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of regulatory compliance or pipeline operations is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with monitoring and supporting compliance with PHMSA and state pipeline safety regulations.
  • Help review and apply pipeline safety regulations related to design, construction, operation, maintenance, corrosion control, operator qualification, control room management, integrity management, incident investigation, and emergency response.
  • Support preparation for PHMSA and state regulatory inspections and audits.
  • Assist in reviewing, developing, and updating pipeline safety programs, manuals, and procedures.
  • Help collect and organize data for risk analyses, risk assessments, and integrity management activities (e.g., inline inspection data, pressure testing records, and well logging information).
  • Support the review of regulatory requirements, standards, and guidance to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with documenting and tracking compliance issues identified through internal reviews or regulatory inspections.
  • Communicate findings and updates with project teams and management.
  • Prepare for and conduct risk analysis, risk assessments, and integrity assessments (e.g., ILI, pressure testing, UGS well logging).
  • Provide technical determinations and resolutions of compliance issues arising from client requests, internal inspections, and PHMSA/state partner inspections.
  • Serve as a point of contact or project manager for client work.
