About The Position

Works under the general direction of the Police Info Technology Deputy Chief to manage the day-to-day operations of the Memphis Police Department (MPD) website. Ensures that the functionality, navigation, and overall performance of the website meets MPD goals. Creates standard compliances and secures web applications via Hypertext Markup (HTML), Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), and JavaScript. Identifies and troubleshoots the application system issues to ensure systems are available and accurate. Collaborates with the Information Technology Department on road mapping, testing, site enhancements, development of new platforms, and design or structural changes. Analyzes, designs, implements and maintains technical solutions and multimedia content for the MPD website. Coordinates the content and organization of static and dynamic data with police management. Investigates and analyzes various specialized computing options and solutions. Develops internal and external communication through web technologies. Provides content management for weekly and ad hoc site changes. Plans and designs content and functionality/navigation changes as needed. Maintains brand integrity and structure of website pages, microsites, and landing pages. Assists with the planning of application deployments such as updates, upgrades, and conversions. Researches and administers social media tools in support of social media strategies. Monitors web analytics dashboards, reports, and identify opportunities to enhance performance and user experience. Keeps abreast of latest technologies regarding maintaining websites.
