About The Position

Assists in researching, organizing, interpreting, and preparing written assessments and executive summaries of information about the university’s compliance with federal and state laws and regulations and university policy. The analyst will search out and evaluate if the university is complying or in need of improvement. Requirements

  • Students may only have 5 open job applications at a time.
  • Advanced (Capstone) Work Experience Description: Designed for students with substantial experience and advanced skills, such as multiple internships, leadership roles, or specialized training. Best suited for upper-level juniors or seniors with strong practical experience and expertise in their field.
  • Solid Microsoft Office skills, and knowledge on how to research data and the law.
  • Must exemplify the University Honor Code, including the dress and grooming principles and expectations.
  • Analysts will be able to set their hours with the Chief Compliance Officer to 19 hours per week during the semester, depending on their needs and circumstances.
  • Hours are limited to office hours between 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday - Friday, and are expected to work in the office.
  • This is an internship for Political Science with preference given to a candidate looking for a 1 semester internship over someone looking for continual employment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting research and writing executive summaries, position papers, reports, and other texts for a variety of compliance areas.
  • Performs research tasks such as interviewing university attorneys, managers, and other officials and performing internet and legal database searches to understand the requirements of specific federal and state laws and to translate the requirements into a common language.
  • Create compliance assessment checklists and monitoring programs.
  • Interview university employees and document the results of interviews.
  • Assess the university's level of compliance against applicable federal and state regulations, Church and university policies, etc.
  • Perform other supporting administrative roles within the department as assigned.
  • Learn skills in successfully communicating with senior managers of the university.
  • Other duties as assigned.
