The Opportunity: The Aquatics Director plays a vital role in ensuring the safe, enjoyable, and efficient operation of our pool facilities. This position requires exceptional leadership, organizational skills, and a passion for delivering a superior member experience. The Aquatics Director will oversee all aspects of pool operations, from maintaining water quality to managing staff and coordinating events, to create a vibrant and welcoming aquatic environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in pool management, lifeguarding, or aquatic facility operations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with members, staff, and vendors.
  • Knowledge of pool chemistry, water quality maintenance, and safety protocols.
  • Certification in lifeguarding, first aid, and CPR/AED.
  • Organizational skills to manage schedules, events, and resources efficiently.
  • Problem-solving abilities to address issues that arise and make sound decisions.
  • Customer-focused mindset, dedicated to providing exceptional service to club members and guests.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as required by the pool schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising pool staff, including lifeguards, swim instructors, and maintenance personnel.
  • Implementing and enforcing pool rules and safety protocols to ensure the well-being of all members and guests.
  • Managing the pool schedule, including open swim times, swim lessons, and private events.
  • Monitoring water quality and ensuring that proper chemical levels are maintained for a clean and safe swimming environment.
  • Coordinating and overseeing swim lessons, water aerobics classes, and other aquatic programs.
  • Planning and executing poolside events, parties, and social gatherings.
  • Addressing member inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conducting regular safety drills and training sessions for pool staff.
  • Collaborating with the maintenance team to ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of pool facilities and equipment.
  • Managing inventory and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Providing leadership and guidance to the pool staff, fostering a positive and motivated team environment.
