About The Position

The Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh seeks a highly motivated Post-doctoral Associate to join our translational research program investigating how gut microbe–derived metabolites drive lung injury and. This position will lead mechanistic studies defining how gut-derived signals, including microbial metabolites, trigger cell death in the lungs. The ideal candidate will work independently and collaboratively across cellular, animal, and human translational systems to advance this emerging field at the intersection of microbiome–metabolite signaling, xenobiotic metabolism, and pulmonary immunopathology. The post-doctoral associate will have access to state-of-the-art core facilities and will contribute to manuscript preparation, data interpretation, and project leadership.
