About The Position

A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Departments of Genetics and Biochemistry & Molecular Biophysics at WashU in St. Louis. Multi-disciplinary research in the Egervari Lab focuses on the emerging area of metabolic-epigenetic interactions in the brain, particularly in the context of substance use disorders and neurodegeneration. We utilize cutting-edge proteomic, metabolomic and genomic approaches, including on the single cell level, to understand how metabolites influence chromatin and gene expression in the brain. Further, we apply mouse behavioral models and in vitro mechanistic studies to query the role of these pathways in disease and to identify novel therapeutic targets. We are now seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral candidate with previous training in any area of molecular biology, neuroscience, proteomics or genomics. This position will also provide outstanding opportunities to develop independent research projects at the intersection of translational neuroscience, epigenetics, and metabolism.
