About The Position

The Preventive Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for organizing, scheduling, and managing maintenance activities aimed at preventing equipment failures and ensuring the optimal functioning of machinery.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership role
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Engineering or Industrial Maintenance role
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished I written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form
  • Working knowledge of maintenance/reliability concepts and theory.
  • Familiar with a wide range of engineering disciplines. Able to advise technicians in diagnosing equipment problems, replacing, testing, and adjusting components, and reading/interpreting manuals or work order.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance Planning: Maintain detailed preventive maintenance schedule by developing in depth Job Plans in CMMS for each PM/MMOL and Overhaul event. Continually improve and maintain by adjusting Job Plans as needed.
  • Work Order Management: Generate, assign, and track work orders for predictive/preventive maintenance tasks, PM/MMOL, and Overhaul activities, ensuring timely completion and proper documentation.
  • Equipment Failure Analysis: Review each work shifts turnover of EBD/URG breakdowns for excessive downtime and repetitive breakdown occurrences. Excessive downtime analysis should begin here with collection of data and details to assist with DT investigation. Help oncoming shifts to spot repetitive breakdowns and assist Supervisors/TLs with analysis and timely on shift countermeasures.
  • Root Cause Failure Analysis: Assist teams in root cause analysis and develop feedback loops with team members. Develop countermeasures based on root cause findings and report back to the maintenance teams. Consider training opportunities that have developed from the excessive breakdowns and use those to implement a training plan. Develop Solutions Database in CMMS for FSR related breakdowns which will assist teams in resolving breakdowns quicker.
  • Predictive Maintenance: Utilize PIMS, SPSS, Asset Monitoring, Vibration analysis, Oil Analysis, Infrared thermography, Gemba walks and primarily CMMS (Maximo) for data collection to establish predictive maintenance program allowing maintenance team to respond and make repairs at an optimal time before a major breakdown occurs.
  • Maintenance Gemba walk: Preview latest months URG/EBD breakdowns and PIMS data prior to Mondays and utilize data to generate CM work orders to predictively target future machine issues. Establish a pattern of Gemba walks with 8-hour maintenance technicians on Mondays for current week’s scheduled PM/MMOL events. Develop visual inspection check sheet for technicians to use on Gemba walks for entire production line. Use Gemba walks to enhance predictive maintenance program at the asset level through group discussions of items found during the walk. Standardize CM work orders generated through Gemba walks for reporting.
  • Inventory Management: Based on PM activities and breakdown countermeasures, order parts and change quantities as needed to prevent unplanned downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
  • Resource Coordination: Coordinate with maintenance technicians, contractors, and other staff to ensure necessary resources, tools, and parts are available for scheduled work.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all preventive maintenance activities, including completed tasks, inspections, repairs, and parts used for PM/MMOL and Overhaul activities. Focus on accurate data collection by periodically reviewing work logs to spot inconsistencies in documentation and make corrections with the maintenance teams.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure all predictive/preventive maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies. Support continuous improvement in safety practices. Develop a culture of safety and awareness within maintenance crews by reporting issues and developing countermeasures through maintenance safety FMEA meetings.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on maintenance activities, equipment status, and performance metrics for management review.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance preventive and predictive maintenance processes, reduce downtime, and optimize equipment reliability. Expand Asset Monitoring program through Gemba walks, group discussions of breakdowns with excessive downtime, and collaboration with Controls and Process Engineering groups.
  • Collaboration: Interact with Production Department Managers, Process Engineers, Controls Engineers, and on occasion outside Contractors, to promote a proactive culture between maintenance and those departments by focusing on asset reliability.
  • Track and manage absenteeism, timekeeping, and Paid Time Off (PTO) for team members on assigned 8-hour shifts. Foster a positive work environment through effective communication and proactive engagement. Address employee concerns promptly through fair and consistent application of company policies by providing ongoing coaching and support to employees by coordinating training resources and development opportunities to include corrective actions.
  • Responsible for conducting employee performance reviews, providing clear and constructive feedback, and aligning any PIN’s on any performance gaps.
  • Morale: Motivate maintenance crews and promote good morale among teams by maintaining open communication, valuing their input, providing training opportunities, and recognizing specific instances of good performance.
  • Training Plan: Assist Department Manager in developing and maintaining a Mechanical/Electrical training plan that will be continuously improved upon and driven by the needs of team members for personal growth, succession planning and the demands of equipment assets.
