About The Position

This role provides strategic leadership for cybersecurity across enterprise systems, guiding the development, implementation, and governance of security architectures. The Principal Architect will design secure cloud solutions, enforce compliance standards, and act as a trusted advisor to IT and engineering teams. This position combines technical expertise with strategic oversight, ensuring robust protection of digital assets, networks, and applications while enabling business growth. You will influence security policy, mentor teams, and lead the adoption of best practices across the organization. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-moving, complex environments and is passionate about maintaining state-of-the-art security while enabling operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant cybersecurity experience, including leadership roles
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience and familiarity with secure SDLC processes
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare or highly regulated environments
  • Knowledge of control frameworks such as HITRUST, SSAE 18, or equivalent
  • Proven ability to develop and execute cybersecurity strategies, policies, and governance
  • Experience leading programs across multiple business units, functional areas, or locations
  • Strong communication skills, capable of engaging stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and oversee enterprise security architectures, controls, and processes
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce policies, standards, and secure coding guidelines
  • Lead risk assessments, vulnerability management, and mitigation planning across systems and networks
  • Serve as a cybersecurity advisor to IT, engineering, and operational teams, ensuring secure SDLC practices
  • Create and maintain documentation including security design, build, and operational guides
  • Govern adoption of security controls across the organization and measure their effectiveness
  • Mentor teams on cybersecurity practices, network hardening, and secure protocol design
  • Establish governance structures, playbooks, and metrics for continuous improvement in cybersecurity operations
