Job Overview: The Problem Asset Coordinator manages and processes impaired mortgage loan claims, ensuring that repurchase claims are validated, communicated effectively, and accurately documented. This role also includes managing the bid process for loans designated for sale, working with multiple internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring all necessary steps are completed for successful loan disposition. This role is full time in office in the Ballantyne area of Charlotte, NC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in mortgage servicing, loan documentation review, or a similar role in the financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of investor claims, loan repurchase processes, and risk management a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to think analytically
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and loan servicing systems
  • Ability to work full time in Deephaven's office located in the Ballantyne area of Charlotte

Responsibilities

  • Intake of investor claims including data entry and necessary documents to complete review
  • Review of loan purchase agreements to confirm if claim meets criteria
  • Review of pay history, servicing notes, and other loan documents to validate claim
  • Upon completion of review, provide resolution recommendations to SVP, Counterparty Risk
  • Identify impaired loans with Legal/Ops that will go to the Sale and Disposition Market
  • Prepare and present Sale and Disposition loans in a Bid Tape to known Sale and Disposition investors
  • Present bid comparisons to the Legal and Operations team for review and approval
  • Process Sale and Disposition loan sales based on approved pricing from Legal and Operations which includes but not limited to: (1) obtaining LOIs; (2) uploading loan files to the investor; (3) requesting documentation from servicers; (4) addressing diligence findings; (5) reviewing funding schedules; (6) submitting documentss for closing approval; (7) notifying servicers of loan sales; (8) requesting final Assignments
  • Maintain and update the Sale and Disposition Pipeline with sale dates and other pertinent information
