About The Position

This location is part of our Prepared Foods Business Unit. The PSM Coordinator is responsible for building, implementing, organizing and maintaining the facilities OSHA Process Safety Management PSM.

Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience: For ammonia refrigeration: 3+ years documented experience in refrigeration system operation/maintenance or must successful completion of Tyson Operator I, II, and III training within 3 years of starting the role.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience using spreadsheets and software systems. Ability to create templates and reports.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication. Ability to represent the facility during OSHA and EPA audits and explain how plant systems meet federal PSM/RMP codes, with the ability to relate these to Tyson's specific programs.
  • Special Skills: Strong organizational skills and discretion when handling sensitive information. Ability to understand and apply regulatory requirements. Ability to prioritize tasks and coordinate with EHS and Engineering Services.
  • Travel: Limited travel may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Communications and Liaison: Responsible for written and verbal communications with facility management regarding refrigeration operations, compliance audits, mechanical integrity, hazard analyses, incident investigations, and other EHS action items. This role ensures that facility management is kept informed and updated on relevant matters.
  • PSM Committee Leadership: Initiate and lead monthly PSM committee meetings, involving managers and team members. This role ensures that all stakeholders are engaged in PSM-related discussions and decisions.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain the PSM bulletin board for communication of meeting minutes and other relevant information. Manage the Management of Change (MOC) process for applicable projects. Conduct incident investigations and organize information related to the 14 elements of the Tyson PSM and RMP Programs.
  • Support and Training: Support refrigeration management with budgeting for PSM-covered processes. Assist in the development and implementation of training related to PSM-covered processes.
  • Preventative Maintenance (PM) Management: Develop tracking and scheduling systems for PM activities on equipment, piping, valves, etc. Develop training for routine and non-routine PM tasks specified by the Mechanical Integrity Program to optimize labor use.
  • Data Management and Analysis: Maintain electronic data systems such as SAP-PM or MMS for reporting and data storage integral to mechanical integrity for PSM/RMP-covered processes. Analyze maintenance data, review PSM-required work orders, and equipment history to recommend repair or replacement in accordance with recognized engineering practices to ensure equipment and facility optimization.
  • Any other assigned duties by management.
