Job Summary Caterpillar seeks a Procurement Solutions Professional in Peoria, IL. You will be primarily responsible for supporting the execution of designing, developing, deploying, and monitoring procurement capabilities to provide business solutions that are globally effective & applicable. As a member of the Resiliency SCoE team, you must have a growth mindset, promote continuous improvement, and help build a defect-free culture.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent experience desired
  • 3 Plus years of Procurement/Supply Chain experience
  • A demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of people and collaborate across functional areas across the Enterprise
  • Business Process Improvement: Knowledge of business process improvement best practices and ability to use methods for identifying, evaluating, introducing and implementing more efficient approaches to performing business related activities. Level Working Knowledge: Illustrates problems, opportunities and methods for improving existing business processes. Suggests ways to reduce variation and/or waste in processes. Participates in requirements analysis for process changes.
  • Data Analytics: Knowledge of techniques and processes for inspecting, cleansing, transforming, and modeling data; ability to discover useful information, draw logical conclusions, and support decision-making. Level Working Knowledge: Recognizes and assesses problems, opportunities, and methods for improving existing business performance. Utilizes designated data analysis software to analyze the data.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. Level Working Knowledge: Listens to feedback without defensiveness and uses it for own communication effectiveness. Makes oral presentations and writes reports needed for own work. Looks for and considers non-verbal cues from individuals and groups.
  • Negotiating: Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner. Level Basic Understanding: · Accesses organizational policies and practices for negotiating. · Utilizes techniques for establishing rapport and building trust.
  • Procurement Function: Knowledge of responsibilities, accountabilities, and organization of procurement function; ability to perform tasks and activities of the procurement functions or department. Level Basic Understanding: Explains the basic role and contributions of the procurement or purchasing function. Locates the basic tools and technologies used by procurement professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance the enterprise Supplier Risk and Response Management (SRRM) process.
  • Ensure unified VOB/VOC requirements and prepare implementation plans for successful deployments.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the SRRM process and tools, aiming for the highest possible efficiency and output through collaboration.
  • Serve as the process lead, working directly with various Strategic Procurement & Planning Division team members, procurement, and supply chain, to align processes and ensure a unified approach to enterprise.
  • Establish regular reviews with the user community, a vital step to ensure a sustainable process for partner success.
  • Collaborate with and inspire highly effective regional teams to integrate the overall supplier risk and response management process activities.
  • Contributes to strategic initiatives such as the development of standardized best practices, offerings, services and development of associated tools & training.
