Producer & Board Operator
About The Position
CUMULUS MEDIA | Kansas City, KS is offering a part-time opportunity as a Producer and Board Operator for KCMO Talk Radio 95.7FM/710AM. Our ideal candidate should possess an extreme interest in local/Kansas City, national and worldwide news cycle. This candidate must possess a good work ethic, be a self-starter, and be highly organized with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The position requires extreme reliability and flexibility. If you are a fast-learner familiar with audio equipment and automation, have experience with board operation and use of phones, and have a passion for radio, read on. Strong detail execution, a positive mindset, and strong problem-solving skills are qualities of the ideal candidate.
Requirements
- Reliable with impeccable work ethic and positive, solution-finding mentality
- Strong professional communication skills with show talent, management, and sales teams both in-studio and on-location
- Proficient use of computer systems such as Microsoft Office Suite, Op-X, AudioVault, Wide Orbit, ENCO, Soundforge, Nuendo, Reaper, Adobe Audition or other audio editing and automation programs
- Strong Social Media skills with platforms like Facebook, YouTube, X and Instagram
- Audio production and editing skills, including experience with audio mixers and remote monitoring systems for radio transmissions
- Flexibility in scheduling as required with primary focus on afternoons
- Previous control board operation required, 1-3 years’ experience preferred
- Ideally able to lift up to 50 pounds
Responsibilities
- Radio station control board operation and phone screening during live and recorded regular programming and sports programming
- Cluster and station commercial and imaging production
- Social Media execution
- Monitor and rebroadcast required EAS Alerts, Weather Warnings, Amber Alerts and breaking news
- Maintain technical quality and accuracy of incoming and outgoing on-air programming from station studios
