About The Position

Directs program production process, ensuring efficiency, quality, safety, and timely delivery of products while managing resources and teams. Manages the activities and staff in an assembly function, which may include but is not limited to a wide variety of electronic, electro-mechanical, mechanical or measurement product assembly operations on product components, assemblies or sub-assemblies. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related field with 5 years’ experience. 4 Additional years’ experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience with managing an industrial operation.
  • Experience with the utilization of procedures and technical drawings.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Sound understanding of production processes and manufacturing techniques
  • Sufficient experience in production planning and scheduling software
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of quality management and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Basic principles of supply chain management
  • Industry-specific regulations and safety standards
  • Pressure-handling and multiple-priority managing capabilities
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and apply technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control methods and project management techniques
  • Negotiating and relationship management skills with internal team members, customers, suppliers and contractors
  • Flexibility and willingness to accept new technology and procedures.
  • Must be a US citizen able to obtain clearance up to the level of SECRET.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and Scheduling: Develop production plans and schedules to meet customer demands, optimize resource use, and ensure deadlines are met. Coordinate production runs, allocate resources, and adjust schedules as needed to maintain smooth operations.
  • Team Leadership and Supervision: Manage production teams, providing guidance, training, and motivation. They conduct regular meetings to communicate targets, address issues, and ensure staff are prepared to meet production demands. Engage regularly with program leadership both internally and externally ensuring effective communication.
  • Quality Control and Compliance: Ensuring products meet quality standards is a key duty. Implement and enforce quality control measures, monitor production processes, and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and government regulations.
  • Process Improvement and Cost Control: Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies, implement cost-effective changes, and introduce new methods or technologies to enhance productivity and reduce workflow delays.
  • Reporting and Performance Monitoring: Track performance metrics, maintain accurate production records, and report on progress to management, helping guide decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Resource and Inventory Management: Oversee the procurement and management of raw materials, monitor inventory levels, and coordinate with procurement, logistics, and sales departments to maintain a seamless workflow.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, procurement and inventory leads, finance, and senior leadership to align production goals with overall business objectives, ensuring that operations support strategic priorities.
