About The Position

Advantest, a leading Semiconductor Test and Measurement Company, is seeking
self-driven and creative Engineer who is interested in supporting
Semiconductor Test Equipment. The internship involves working with the Field Service
Engineering team in customer site preparation consultation, on-site
installation, implementation planning, maintenance and repair of Advantest
systems solutions. This will include hardware, software, networking products
and operating systems. This internship will be in San Jose, CA or Austin TX.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Windows, UNIX and Linux operating systems.
• Communication and presentation skills.
• Analytical approach to Problem Solving.
• Ability and motivation to work in teams and in global environment.
• Progress towards an AS or BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field
• Fluent in English (German or Japanese a plus).

Nice To Haves

• Practical experience using hand tools in support of electro-mechanical equipment is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Learn to install, operate, repair, maintain and upgrade Advantest Semiconductor Test Equipment.
• Learn to operate test instrumentation such as digital multimeters, data logging equipment and frequency counters.
• Provide strong teamwork and communications with local support team members and management.
• Timely and accurate completion of all administrative tasks associated with the task performed.
