About The Position

Under the direction of the Principal and/or Assistant Principal, acts as a professional learning coordinator, mentor/coach, facilitator, and member of the leadership team. Acts as a resource for the professional development of teachers. May facilitate various aspects of teacher induction. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community members and school clientele. This position would support staff in a coaching model around instructional strategies, planning support, professional development, and everything in between. Ideally, this person would have expertise in EL or in very similar structures as well as in PD facilitation, and coaching of teachers. Renaissance Elementary Magnet School has specialized programing different from many neighboring schools: We are an EL Education School and strive to provide students with meaningful, cross content experiences in their learning created by teachers. We have early release for students each Wednesday to provide time for professional development and deep planning for all staff. As part of our Adventure Education program, classroom teachers accompany their students on two overnight, multiple day voyages each school year. These are supported and facilitated by our Adventure Education Coordinator, but require significant teacher involvement. Please see our staff voyage agreements HERE. Requirements

  • Teaching License - Colorado Department of Education
  • Bachelor's Degree

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate team, school or feeder meetings to enhance shared responsibility when appropriate

  • Liaison between district and site
  • Lead school initiatives
  • Collaborate with leadership to build World Class Education opportunities for staff
  • Work with principal to create Unified Improvement Plan and Professional Development Plan
  • Backward Plan, implement, evaluate and support professional development to support Site
  • Create personalized induction opportunities
  • Provide support for inductees
  • Ongoing mentoring of all teachers
  • Model, co-teach, and Cognitive Coach teachers
  • Create Differentiated Induction Plans for inductees
  • Support staff in attaining goals
  • Facilitate data analysis opportunities
