Office of Product Regulation and Actuarial Services Mission Statement: The mission of the Office of Product Regulation and Actuarial Services (OPRAS) is to provide consumer protection and assure compliance with all applicable insurance laws and regulations through the review of insurance product policy forms and verification that premium rates are actuarially sound. What you will do: • Acts for Assistant Director in responds to programmatic issues/ needs of staff. • Serves as liaison between Division’s Assistant Director and subordinates in transmitting decisions and directives • Manages the ECR/IRO program, including implements program policy and maintains case records. • Analyzes and evaluates insurance programs, procedures, and policies by providing technical advice to aid Assistant Director in decision making. • Manages the Small Employer Health Care Alliance Program (SEHCA), including reviewing new and renewal applications for a Certificate of Authority to determine if the applicants meet the statutory requirements and serves as the primary contact. • Serves as liaison between divisions on Health Insuring Corporation (HIC) Certificate of Authorities and Viatical and Multiple Employer Welfare Association (MEWA) programs. • Coordinates, researches and responds to general questions from the public. • Maintains Assistant Director’ s files, calendar, and expenses as well as those of the Health Actuary and Division Chief • Prepares drafts of memorandums, letters, and reports on behalf of administrator. Order supplies and publications, maintain various forms, monitor System for Electronic Rate and Form Filing (SERFF) for overpayment of fees and process checks
