About The Position

We seek to hire a highly motivated and talented individual as a program coordinator specializing in Philadelphia's Office of Safe Neighborhoods’ Incarcerated to Community Crisis Intervention Program (ICCIP) to coordinate program services, operational support, and community outreach initiatives. The Incarcerated to Community Crisis Intervention Program (ICCIP) aims to reduce violence in correctional facilities and communities. Using a Credible Messenger model, community leaders engage individuals both in prisons and in the community. The program fosters collaboration, conflict resolution, and resource sharing between communities and facilities. ICCIP combats violence through outreach, case management, referrals, and community problem-solving. By establishing a trusted, non-law-enforcement presence, the program helps prevent and respond to violence while promoting positive community dynamics.

Requirements

  • Understanding of the criminal justice system, prison regulations, inmate classification, and reentry processes.
  • Demonstrates ability to manage multiple projects, estimate timelines, rework a project approach based on unforeseen challenges, work well under pressure, and set/meet reasonable deadlines.
  • Ability to explain policies and initiatives concisely to City leaders, write and speak clearly, and cultivate effective communication among team members.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral interventions, and other evidence-based models.
  • Ability to work with various people and personalities, listen and ask questions to identify policy opportunities, and cultivate strong relationships to ensure seamless collaboration and continued project support.
  • Ability to generate actionable, ethical solutions, have integrity, and address people's real needs.
  • Ability to see opportunities, navigate barriers, be self-directed, and problem-solve solutions that enhance the City's deliverables, processes, and practices.
  • Knowledge of Philadelphia neighborhoods with an emphasis on the Philadelphia Police Department's Pinpoint areas
  • Ability to work in crisis situations in a professional and mature manner.
  • Knowledge of Philadelphia including dynamics of wide array of different communities and neighborhood; familiarity with the stakeholders involved in Philadelphia criminal justice system.
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook, and other computer-based communications, functions, and platforms, and ability to learn new software systems
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage multiple activities in a fast- paced environment, including managing peoples’ involvement in complex projects
  • A bachelor’s degree in social work, education, criminal justice, communications, or a related field is required, or a student currently enrolled in a college/university with at 2 - 4 years of relevant working experience is required. OR any equivalent combination of education and experience determined to be acceptable that has included the completion of a graduate’s degree program and the specific experience:

  • Experience in working with community organizations/agencies and high-risk populations is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Case management: Ensures compliance and that procedures are developed/ enforced in alignment with the standards of OSN.
  • Outreach Coordination: Collaborate with partnering community-based organizations to implement a plan of action regarding community engagement and crisis response
  • Program Evaluation: Coordinates process for improving organizational performance by recommending areas or approaches for improvement initiatives or activities, performing new procedures, collecting data, and providing input to ICCIP.
  • Project Management: Monitor program progress and report on key performance indicators.
  • Develop and facilitate relevant relationships between all participating social service agencies to support identifying available resources for crisis workers to deploy to the community.
  • Proactively identify and create new partnership opportunities with individuals/networks/groups who engage in violence prevention initiatives.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on programming activities and outcomes.
  • Responsible for assisting with the preparation of written documents, including, but not limited to, blog posts, fact sheets, flyers, policy briefs, news releases, etc.
  • Ability to prepare or supervise the preparation of reports and records.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with high-risk individuals, public agency and institutional personnel, and the public.
  • Collect, analyze, and report data related to program outcomes.
  • Conduct program evaluations and assessments to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate on special projects for other OSN program initiatives.
  • Other duties assigned by ICCIP Director.
