Job Description We are seeking a highly strategic and client-facing Program Director with deep expertise in hospital and physician billing, coding and revenue cycle management functions. This role serves as the primary relationship owner for assigned physician and hospital clients while also leading revenue cycle improvement initiatives, implementations, and performance optimization projects. This position is responsible for assigned clients’ success. The ideal candidate understands the full professional revenue cycle, from charge capture and coding through collections, and can confidently translate data into actionable strategies for physician groups and practice leadership. The ideal candidate embraces a ‘what, so what, now what’ methodology for client engagement and management, and is comfortable and confident leading change management initiatives within a health system and/or medical group.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in professional (physician) revenue cycle management
  • Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, modifiers, and payer guidelines
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS)
  • Experience leading client-facing meetings with practice administrators or physician leadership
  • Proven track record of improving collections, reducing denials, and optimizing billing workflows
  • Experience managing projects or implementations
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen
  • Executive presence and confident communication style
  • Ability to translate data into strategy
  • Highly organized with strong follow-through
  • Comfortable managing multiple clients and priorities
  • Solution-oriented, proactive mindset

Nice To Haves

  • CPC, CPMA, or related coding certification
  • Experience with multi-specialty physician groups
  • Experience within an RCM vendor environment
  • Consulting background with experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned physician billing clients
  • Serves as a liaison between Client Site Lead, SMEs, and hospital team members
  • Lead regularly scheduled and ad hoc business performance reviews
  • Present performance metrics include, but not limited to: Net Collection Rate Days in A/R Clean Claim Rate Denial Rates Charge Lag & Payment Lag Coding metric performance wRVU
  • Identify revenue leakage and propose corrective action plans
  • Manage escalations and ensure timely resolution
  • Drive client retention and growth opportunities
  • Lead new client onboarding and revenue cycle transitions
  • Develop implementation timelines and track deliverables
  • Oversee workflow redesign and process improvement initiatives
  • Partner with coding, billing, and operations teams to ensure alignment
  • Monitor project milestones and ensure deadlines are met
  • Monitor coding accuracy and documentation trends
  • Identify undercoding, overcoding, and modifier issues
  • Analyze denial patterns and implement root-cause solutions
  • Collaborating with team to ensure compliance and productivity standards
  • Support internal and external coding audits as needed
  • Engage, collaborate and support management of related external vendors supporting operations
