Job Title: Program Management Director Reporting To: Group Vice President, General Management Work Schedule: Onsite – Blacksburg, VA Program Management Director Moog Space and Defense – Power and Data Division Moog’s Power and Data Division is recognized for developing innovative solutions that support critical commercial and defense signal‑integrity applications. Comprised of three Business Units, the Division delivers high‑reliability component and subsystem solutions to customers across the Space and Defense industry. Effective program management is essential to the continued growth of our Power and Data Division. This team ensures programs are executed to cost, schedule, and performance commitments for both Moog and our customers. As the Program Management Director, you will drive consistency in divisional processes, tools, and best practices while directly leading the Program Management functions across all three Power and Data Division businesses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or Science (MBA preferred).
  • At least 10 years of program management experience with demonstrated leadership capability.
  • Proven ability to develop functional strategies, establish best practices, and implement large‑scale processes.
  • Experience leading in a matrixed organization with strong collaboration and influence skills.
  • PMP certification and demonstrated competency with recognized industry standards for managing government and commercial contract types.
  • Demonstrated success managing customers at the executive level.
  • This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, train, and oversee the implementation of functional strategies and objectives for program management across the Power and Data Division.
  • Lead the program management function for multiple Power and Data Division businesses, including direct leadership of program management personnel.
  • Establish program baselines that ensure execution meets or exceeds proposal margin targets.
  • Identify, develop, and implement improved program management processes, tools, and best practices to support each Business Unit.
  • Build and mentor senior program management leadership, ensuring required competencies and behaviors are fully embedded.
  • Create performance metrics, dashboards, and management tools to monitor ongoing program management effectiveness.
  • Review underperforming programs, partner with program leadership on mitigation plans, and oversee recovery execution.
  • Position program management as a growth enabler for revenue and operating profit.
  • Bring prior experience from Aerospace & Defense or other highly regulated industries (such as pharmaceutical).
