As a Program Management Manager within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Cleveland, OH, Birmingham, AL or Dallas, TX. This position leads a team responsible for maintaining portfolio structure, defining and managing enterprise-level metrics, supporting executive operations, and translating data and trends into actionable insights. The role partners closely with technology leaders and senior stakeholders to ensure transparency, alignment, and continuous improvement across all lines of business. Manages and leads program managers to ensure success in the execution of organizational programs in support of corporate strategy. No requirement for program size. Manages and assesses the general and detailed planning stages of organizational programs; participates in the development of strategies to ensure projects achieve overall program goals. Oversight and reporting for the overall program budget while working to ensure success of the program. Monitors and evaluates the implementation and effectiveness of the programs and recommends enhancements based on results. Coaches and develops program managers. Retains and grows relationships with service partner leadership to ensure seamless delivery and a consistent experience across multiple distribution channels. Requirements

  • Strong background in program and project management, with the ability to translate strategy into executable workstreams
  • Experience supporting senior leadership and executive governance routines
  • Proven experience leading teams in roles focused on oversight, reporting, or strategic enablement
  • Comfort working across multiple technology domains and lines of business
  • Highly strategic and detail-oriented, with the ability to zoom out to enterprise implications and dive deep into data
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret reports, metrics, and trends and define what “improvement” looks like
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, including executive-level storytelling
  • Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint for leadership-ready presentations
  • Strong experience leveraging Tableau and Power BI, including report development and data interpretation
  • Ability to influence without direct ownership or authority
  • Successful candidates must demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for a role.
  • Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree.
  • Industry experience is typically 8+ years.
  • At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required.
  • In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.

  • Higher level education such as a Masters degree, PhD, or certifications is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Own the representation of technology portfolios in executive and senior leadership forums, ensuring clarity, consistency, and strategic alignment
  • Partner with Directors and leaders aligned to each Line of Business (LOB) to support the full technology organization
  • Provide strategic oversight rather than hands-on delivery, enabling leaders to learn from portfolio performance and trends
  • Lead the development and ongoing management of weekly and monthly executive review routines, including leadership-facing decks and materials
  • Oversee the creation of a weekly portfolio deck, highlighting performance, trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Identify negative or concerning trends and drive the development of action plans in partnership with portfolio owners
  • Manage board-reportable metrics, including quality and other enterprise-critical measures
  • Define, evolve, and govern enterprise-level portfolio metrics
  • Ensure metrics are meaningful, actionable, and aligned with strategic outcomes
  • Partner with reporting and analytics resources to analyze data, identify insights, and recommend improvement paths
  • Translate complex data into clear narratives that drive executive understanding and decision-making
  • Lead and develop a team focused on portfolio governance, metrics, education, and executive support
  • Provide coaching and direction to ensure high-quality analysis, storytelling, and stakeholder engagement
  • Support ongoing PMO upscaling efforts, including education, standards, and process maturity
  • Serve as a connective layer between strategy, execution, and executive oversight
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on portfolio health, trends, and improvement opportunities
