About The Position

SNC's Military Fellowship Program partners with programs such as SkillBridge and Hiring Our Heroes to provide fellowship opportunities to service members transitioning to the civilian workforce. These fellowships include up to six months of on-the-job industry training for eligible service members. During this time, participants gain valuable work experience in the civilian sector and build professional networks as they prepare for their transition to full-time civilian work. NOTE: You must be currently serving on active duty to be eligible for this fellowship program. This program is not for veterans who have already separated from the military. The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Requirements

  • Currently serving as ACTIVE DUTY military and be eligible to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Intermediate understanding of project management methodologies.
  • Fundamental MS Office Skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively.
  • Demonstrated ownership of tasks, organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Possess strong communication and client-facing, teamwork skills.
  • Agility and responsiveness in a fast paced environment.
  • Familiarity with program execution.
  • Results driven regardless the task.
  • Self-motivated, and driven for more.
  • Soft skills, business sense.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Certification in Project Management [e.g., Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Project Management Professional (PMP)].
  • Advanced proficiency in project management software.
  • Development of proposals to include administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Data entry into Project Management (PM) Systems.
  • Collaborating with internal Leadership, vendors, suppliers, other stakeholders, and internal teams, such as Integrated Product Team (IPT) leads, Control Account Managers (CAMs), Tech Leads, and Project Administrators (PAs) to ensure program activities will accomplish objectives.
  • Conflict resolution especially those related to resource assignments.
  • Monitoring project progress against baseline schedule and facilitating process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate project management activities, resources, equipment, and information.
  • Break projects into actionable tasks and set timeframes.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to facilitate project execution and assign tasks to internal teams.
  • Assist with schedule management and ensure client needs are met as projects evolve.
  • Help prepare budgets and analyze risks and opportunities.
  • Monitor project progress and address issues through proper communication and escalation.
  • Act as a point of contact and communicate project status to all stakeholders.
  • Work with the Program Manager to remove roadblocks.
  • Use tools to monitor and control performance, plans, and expenditures.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans, and status reports.
