About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Project & Portfolio Management Intern to support enterprise-wide initiatives during the summer. This role is ideal for a third- or fourth-year undergraduate student interested in project management, business operations, strategic planning, or process improvement, who is detail-oriented, analytically minded and brings strong analytical skills and an interest in enterprise healthcare operations. The intern will participate in annual portfolio planning activities, support enterprise projects, and assist senior project managers with project activities. The Details:  This is a full-time remote opportunity. 10-week internship that will run from June 1st through August 7th, 2026.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in an accredited college program (entering 3rd or 4th year) with major coursework in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Management, Operations, or related field.
  • Coursework or exposure to project management, process improvement, or business analysis is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the annual enterprise portfolio planning process, including initiative intake, prioritization, and documentation.
  • Assist in maintaining portfolio artifacts such as proposals, dashboards, and executive summaries.
  • Help prepare materials for portfolio governance discussions (e.g., agenda drafts, pre-reads, meeting notes) and organize input from stakeholders.
  • Perform basic quality checks on portfolio data (completeness, consistency, and formatting) and flag discrepancies to the portfolio lead.
  • Support tracking of cross-initiative dependencies and follow-ups to keep intake and prioritization artifacts current.
  • Assist senior project managers on active enterprise projects with planning, coordination, and execution activities.
  • Help monitor project health indicators (e.g., milestone status, open actions, key risks/issues) and summarize highlights for weekly updates.
  • Support maintenance of project documentation and communications for review by a senior project manager (e.g., status updates, schedules, decision logs, and action items).
  • Participate in project meetings and capture notes, decisions, and follow-ups.
  • Assist with meeting organization (scheduling, agendas, action-item follow-up) and help ensure owners/dates are documented and tracked.
  • Observe and document current-state processes through diagrams and/or narratives.
  • Participate in improvement discussions (retrospectives/lessons learned) and help document actionable recommendations and best practices
  • Prepare project and portfolio reports for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Assist with basic data analysis.
  • Support development of standardized reporting and dashboards.
  • Assist with validating source data used in dashboards/reports (spot checks, trend notes, formatting consistency) to improve reliability of reporting.
  • Work cross-functionally with business, technology, and operations teams, including exposure to executives within the organization.
  • Learn and apply standard project management and process improvement methodologies.
  • Participate in mentoring and professional development opportunities.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in a remote environment, including time management, responsiveness, and confidentiality with sensitive project information.
