As a Project Manager III within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Cleveland, OH, Birmingham, AL, Phoenix, AZ or Dallas, TX. This role will support large-scale infrastructure initiatives within the CTO organization, with a primary focus on core infrastructure services, including networking, mainframe, and infrastructure hardware. This role plays a critical part in standing up new data centers and delivering foundational infrastructure capabilities in support of major enterprise initiatives. This is an ideal opportunity for a technically experienced infrastructure professional who has led technology teams or initiatives and is now focused on driving execution through strong project management practices. Job Description Manages the most complex projects from original concept through final implementation and post-project assessment. Accountable for meeting project objectives within established timeframes. May be assigned a single project or a portfolio, requiring extensive planning, oversight, and communication across multiple segments, channels, or lines of business. Typically, project size may be greater than $2.5m. Develops strategy, processes, resource allocation, budget, guidelines and support of project management team. Partners with internal project liaisons to acquire resources, assigns tasks, directs activities, and controls project execution. Coaches and mentors project team members. Tracks and reports progress, analyzes the results based on facts, defines the products of the project, and forecasts future trends in the project. Proactively manages changes in project scope, identifies potential crises, devises contingency plans and recommends improvements based on results. Maintains communications for governing bodies and interested parties. Communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. Requirements

  • Experience across technology infrastructure, including hands-on exposure at a high level to:
  • Networking
  • Mainframe environments
  • Infrastructure hardware and data center technologies
  • Prior experience working within an infrastructure organization in a technical capacity
  • Strong project management experience, including:
  • Planning and executing complex technical projects
  • Coordinating across multiple technical teams
  • Delivering against timelines and milestones
  • Ability to operate effectively in highly technical environments, even where hands-on execution is not required
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • PMP and/or ITIL certification preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver complex infrastructure initiatives under the CTO organization, with an emphasis on:
  • Core infrastructure services (networking, mainframe)
  • Infrastructure hardware deployments
  • Data center stand-up and expansion efforts
  • Manage end-to-end project lifecycle activities, including:
  • Scope definition, planning, scheduling, and execution
  • Risk, issue, and dependency management
  • Budget, timeline, and resource coordination
  • Partner closely with engineering, architecture, operations, and vendor teams to ensure successful infrastructure delivery
  • Translate highly technical concepts into clear project plans and executive-level updates
  • Provide structure and leadership in environments where technical depth on the broader team may be limited
  • Support enterprise infrastructure buildouts required to enable critical banking capabilities
  • Ensure alignment with infrastructure standards, controls, and lifecycle best practices
  • Drive accountability and execution across cross-functional stakeholders
