About The Position

GDC IT Solutions is currently seeking a PMO Project Portfolio Manager to support enterprise-level project and portfolio management initiatives for a public sector client. This role partners closely with executive stakeholders and agency leadership to drive data-informed decisions, improve delivery outcomes, and align technology initiatives with organizational goals. As a PMO Project Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for consulting with executive-level stakeholders to define business needs, conducting in-depth analysis and research, and recommending strategic business and technical solutions. You will leverage extensive experience in project portfolio management, data analysis, and public sector consulting to guide agencies in overcoming complex challenges, improving governance, and optimizing project delivery practices

Requirements

  • Extensive experience providing consulting services to governmental entities.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project portfolio management and related disciplines.
  • Proven ability to work directly with executive-level stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with hands-on experience addressing complex business challenges.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed recommendations with minimal supervision.
  • Strong experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • Proficiency with the ServiceNow platform.
  • Strong experience with project management methodologies, including PMBOK, Waterfall, or Kanban.
  • PMI CAPM or PMP certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong attention to detail and assertiveness.
  • Self-starter mindset with the ability to work with minimal direction

Responsibilities

  • Guide executive-level stakeholders using industry standards and best practices related to project portfolio management and governance.
  • Consult with agency leadership to define business needs or problems and translate them into actionable solutions.
  • Conduct detailed audits, studies, and surveys to obtain data required to analyze organizational challenges.
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to determine appropriate solutions, including process improvements and alternative delivery methods.
  • Advise department heads on alternate approaches for solving business or technical problems and recommend specific solutions.
  • Identify obstacles within existing processes and suggest corrective actions or improvements.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to agency personnel and leadership on portfolio and project management practices.
  • Apply theory, principles, and technology related to the assigned field of business or technical specialization.
